QUEST Hackathon 2025
The Cyprus Institute is pleased to announce the QUEST Hackathon 2025, a one-day, beginner-friendly mini-hackathon on Wednesday, 19 November 2025, at the Andreas Mouskos Auditorium, Athalassa Campus (hybrid participation available). Participants will work in small teams to solve short, guided quantum-computing challenges.
Whether you’re new to quantum computing or eager to enhance your skills, QUEST Hackathon 2025 offers a friendly, supportive environment. Collaborate with mentors from the QUEST team of CyI, expand your knowledge through guided quantum-inspired workflows, and showcase your innovative solutions in the closing demo session.

QUEST and EUROCC-2 Joint Event

The Cyprus Institute Announces a Joint QUEST and EUROCC-2 Event on “Quantum Computing and HPC: Building a Quantum-Ready Cyprus”
The Cyprus Institute is pleased to announce an upcoming workshop on “Quantum Computing and HPC: Building a quantum-ready Cyprus,” taking place on November 18, 2025, at The Cyprus Institute facilities in Aglantzia.
This joint event is co-organised by the ERA Chair project “QUEST: Quantum Computing for Excellence in Science and Technology” and the Digital Europe Programme project “EUROCC-2.” The workshop aims to promote the capabilities of Quantum Computing (QC) and High-Performance Computing (HPC) both locally and at the European level and enable exchange of ideas to enhance collaboration opportunities between research organisations in Cyprus, industry stakeholders, and The Cyprus Institute’s research community.
The event will feature:
- Presentations on the capabilities and benefits of QC and HPC
- A panel discussion on the future of QC
- Opportunities for organisations and research groups to discuss their needs
- Networking opportunities with leading researchers and industry innovators

QUEST Kick-off Event
The Cyprus Institute announced on Thursday 28/02/2023 the beginning of the QUEST research project. Main speaker was the QUEST ERA Chair holder Dr. Karl Jansen, who dived us into the world of Quantum Computing, the challenges and the opportunities arising from the emerging Quantum Computing technologies.
The event was welcomed by the Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, Mr. Kyriakos Kokkinos and Prof. Stavros Malas, The Cyprus Institute President. Prof. Constantia Alexandrou, QUEST PI, introduced the project and the ERA Chair holder Dr. Jansen.






Quantum Workshop Cyprus
Researchers from the Centre of Quantum Technologies and Applications and the ERA Chair QUEST come together in a three day workshop between the 25-27th of October 2023, and discussed about the latest developments in quantum computing related projects.

Visit by the European Research Executive Agency Delegation
The Head of the Operational/Project Management Sector (REA C3 – ‘Widening Participation’) at the European Research Executive Agency (REA), established by the European Commission (EC), Mr. Patricio Ortiz de la Torre, visited The Cyprus Institute’s premises in Athalassa on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.

QUEST has participated in the following events:
- Reflect Festival – 20&21 September 2023 Dr Stella Manoli (QUEST) and Dr Enrico Brehm (DESY) delivered a workshop on “Navigating the New Digital Frontiers: Paradigm Shifts in Product and Material Design” representing QUEST project.
